Counseling Interns

Creative Family Counseling is committed to inspiring future and upcoming therapists to provide evidence-based and developmentally-informed counseling for children, teens, and families.  Because of this priority, the practice’s leadership team has developed a Counseling Student Internship Program, where masters level counseling students (those students enrolled in an accredited masters level counseling program) can apply and interview to become a member of the Creative Family Counseling team as a Student Intern.

Interns at the practice receive training and supervision while executing their educational institution’s requirements for internships and practicum placements.  Interns at all levels are invited to apply to our practice.  Ideal intern candidates include those who are enthusiastic about working with children, teens, and families.  While the Interns’ caseloads will include clients across the lifespan, including children, teens, adults, and couples, a large portion of their caseload will include children.

Interns’ supervision, training, and education at their internship will emphasize the use of developmentally-informed theories for children and parents, which include expressive therapies such as play therapy, as well as positive parenting from the Positive Discipline philosophy.

Interns interested in applying to our practice can do so by sending both a resume, and their educational institution’s program requirements for their practicum and internship to Nora Gardner at [email protected].
