How to Choose a Therapy Group
You’ve decided Group Therapy will help you meet your mental health treatment goals, and are excited to start this new journey – Yay! Now you may be wondering, which group is best for me? Here’s a few factors to consider…
Open versus Closed Groups: We offer both open and closed Group Therapy formats at Creative Family Counseling. Open groups do not have an end date, and allow for new members to join as current members exit. Closed groups are time-limited with a start and end date, and do not allow for new members once they’ve begun.
Location: We currently host Group Therapy at both our Prospect and Lyndon campuses, as well as virtually via Telehealth. You may consider this when deciding which Group works best for you.
Topics: Our Group Therapy options vary in topics to meet the diverse needs of our clients. It is helpful to select an option that best aligns with your presenting concerns, such as self-esteem, parenting, or social skills. If you’re experiencing a concern that is not being addressed via Group Therapy, our team of expert clinicians are happy to support you with individual, family, or couples counseling tailored to address your specific concerns.
Group Criteria: Some of our groups have criteria that must be met in order to join, specifically ages admitted into our children groups. You can find a list of our current group offerings and relevant criteria here.
Deciding which Group to join may feel intimidating, and we are here to help! Our highly trained Intake Team is available to assist you in joining the perfect Group.
